Revised Script-Max

Scene 1

[Fade up from black to an wall filled with posters of stars and planets. Pan down/zoom out to establishing shot of Max's room. Blankets are piled on the bed, including a Power Ranger comforter. On the night stand plastic dinosaurs surround the glowing green alarm clock. We see the clock turn from 5:00AM as the alarm starts to sound. Like a flash a hand snaps out and smacks the snooze button and retreats back under the covers. But the alarm continues. The hand reaches out again and gives the alarm another whack this time hesitating for the response. Alarm clock is unfazed. Max pounds a fist on the alarm then chunks it across the room, not once looking out fromunder the blankets. We hear the alarm hit the wall. The hit distorts the sound making it worse than before.]

Scene 2

[View down on the ground with alarm clock upside down facing camera. In the background we see Max stand. Obviously irritated he marches toward the alarm, stepping on a toy and cursing in the process. He reaches down, grabs the alarm and tries to smash it on the ground. Cut to Max sitting on his bed putting boots on. Mid shot of Max stomping frantically. When he looks down it doesn’t have a scratch.]

[Close up of Max's shocked face slowly morphing into bloodlust determination. He is going to kill this alarm clock.]

[Max attacking alarm with foam sword, nerf gun, then magic wand.]

Max: [waving wand holding Harry Potter book] AVADA KEDAVRA!!!!!!!! [Points wand, braces himself. Nothing.]

[Alarm swirling around a toilet bowl, spinning in microwave, cat. Smothering it with a pillow and crying. Pumping a BB gun. Pumping like crazy. Cut cord being unplugged. The sound stops. Cut to wide shot of Max's little sister Gwen holding up cord and plug. Her teeth are clenched, hair is a mess, eyes wide open glaring at him. Pan over to Max frozen still holding a fuse and lit lighter. Dynamite is strapped to the alarm. Pan back over to Gwen. She drops the cords.

Gwen: [Disgusted at her brother] Uuhck...

[Gwen throws her palms up in disbelief and stomps out of the room shaking her head. Max is briefly ashamed then realizes the alarm has finally stopped! He throws himself onto his bed with a huge breath of relief. A moment later a car alarm starts going off outside. Cut to black.]
