Pre-production Package

1. Script: "Morning Fury"

Scene 1

[Fade in from black to an extraordinarily dirty room. Pan across from left to right, clothes everywhere covering the floor and furniture. Pan rests at the head of the bed. The side table with the alarm is in view. We see the top of a Joes’ head peeking out from under the cocoon-like blankets and clothes. The alarm goes off. Joe quickly reaches out and smacks the snooze button and withdraws his arm back into the blankets. But the alarm continues slightly louder than before. Joe reaches out again and gives the alarm another whack this time hesitating to see what the alarm does. It gets louder still and the noise gets sharper. Joe swiftly snatches up the alarm and chunks it across the room, not once looking out fromunder the blankets.]

Scene 2

[We stay on Joe in the blankets while we hear the alarm hit the wall and the noise gets more shrill and distorted. Cut to the alarm across the room Wide, then close up. Over the shoulder view behind the alarm as Joe lurches out of bed in one swift movement, tossing his blankets to the side. He stands ominously with his head low in front of his body, shoulders tense, and hands clenched into fists. He means business. Joe marches across the room toward the alarm.

Cut to bust shot of Joe as he approaches the alarm. His eyes stay on the alarm continuously, his face twisted in disgust. Suddenly he starts stomping it manically. The sound doesn’t relent. Joe continues to stomp until he’s and out of breath. But when he looks down to see the damage he’s done, shock overtakes his face. He reaches down and lifts the alarm. It doesn’t have a scratch on it.

Close up of Joes shocked face. It slowly morphs into blind fury.

Cut to alarm being hit with a hammer, then scissors, then Joe attempting to smother it with a pillow. All the while the sound goes on. Cut to Joe swinging the hammer, jabbing with the scissors and holding the pillow down crying. He wipes his tears. Close up of a smirk on his face.]

Scene 3

[Cut to mid shot of Joe laughing manically with dark goggles on and bright light flashing up onto his face. The sounds are of welding. Cut to Joe with a hard hat appearing to jackhammer. He is out of control and being shaken around. Cut to Joe dressed as a scientist with a vile of green liquid. He is very nervous and covers his eyes with his gloved hand but peeks through his fingers as he slowly turns the vile to drip it on the alarm. We hear sizzling and bubbling noises. Cut to Joe with a

BB gun pumping it like crazy. He is still in the science clothes but badly burned with black all over his face. Cut to a hand pulling a plug from the wall outlet. The sound stops. Cut to wide shot of Joe and roommate. The roommate stands in the doorway with the plug in hand. Joe is frozen still. He was in the process of taping TNT to the alarm clock. He rushes up the roommate. ]

Joe: [ in awe of his roommate] You are a god!!

Roommate: [rolling his eyes] You’re an idiot. It’s Sunday.

[With that the roommate drops the plug and exits. Joe throws himself onto his bed with a huge breath of relief. A moment later a car alarm starts going off outside. Cut to Joe’s eyes flying open. Cut to black.]
